For the past couple of weeks my work towards this project has been at a stand-still however, Alvaro Siza has been an inspiration to me over the last few days and his work has influenced the way I want to use light in my hermitage.
This afternoon (with help from one of the masters students) I produced my own 'study of light'. I took two pieces of cardboard and positioned them in various ways so as to capture the light and shadows created. I will now take this information and use it to strategically place openings in my hermitage. These openings will predominantly provide light in my hermitage.
Hey Charlene
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about the way that light could effect the guest as he is moving through the space? Looking at how the light creates a sense of space or privacy, maybe even look at the way that light falls on different materials.
Hey Alex. You've got some good ideas might look into them a bit further if I have time :).. but this study still shows me which positioning of my materials will let in the most light and for my hermitage that is the most important thing.
ReplyDeleteamazing job Charlene :)and again very good photo and clever thinking.Alex's comment is also an important thing to take into account indead...think now about how the lecturer will live the space.
